Biography: Ranganathan Madhavan is an Indian actor, screenwriter, film producer, and film director who predominantly works in Tamil and Hindi cinema. He gained prominence with Mani Ratnam’s Alai Payuthey (2000) and went on to deliver several successful films across different languages. His performances in films like Anbe Sivam, Aayutha Ezhuthu, and 3 Idiots have received critical acclaim. Madhavan made his directorial debut with Rocketry: The Nambi Effect (2022), which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film.
Apart from acting, Madhavan has worked as a writer, producer, and television host. He has been actively involved in philanthropic efforts, especially in environmental and educational causes. As of 2023, he serves as the President of FTII, Pune
