War 2 Salaries Revealed: Jr NTR Bags ₹77 Cr for Bollywood Debut, Hrithik Bets Big on Profit Share

Ayan Mukerji’s highly-anticipated action thriller War 2 is generating massive buzz as it gears up for its grand Independence Day release on August 14, 2025. With Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR leading the cast, the film promises edge-of-the-seat action, high-stakes drama, and a showdown fans have long waited for.

What’s adding to the excitement? The staggering salaries the stars are taking home.

According to trade insiders, Jr NTR, who makes his much-awaited Bollywood debut with War 2, is earning between ₹75 crore and ₹77 crore for his role. This not only makes him the highest-paid actor in the YRF Spy Universe to date but also one of the top-paid South Indian stars to debut in a Hindi-language film.

Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan, reprising his role as superspy Kabir, has opted for a post-release profit-sharing deal, indicating high confidence in the film’s box office potential. While his upfront fee remains undisclosed, this back-end model could significantly increase his earnings if the film becomes a blockbuster.

Kiara Advani, who plays the female lead, is reportedly earning ₹15 crore, marking one of her biggest paydays yet.

War 2 also marks the fourth directorial venture for Ayan Mukerji, following the success of Wake Up Sid, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and Brahmastra Part One: Shiva. Despite his limited filmography, Mukerji is known for delivering visually grand, emotionally resonant, and genre-defining cinema.

The trailer, which dropped earlier this year, sets the tone for an intense face-off. It opens with Hrithik’s chilling voiceover, hinting at the cost of becoming a shadow. Soon after, explosive visuals of hand-to-hand combat between him and Jr NTR take center stage. Audiences also get glimpses of romance, action set-pieces, and a global chase.
